There are three things I distinctly love about this lunchtime Indian-street-food destination nestled in the CBD's Goldsbrough Lane:
1. The food.
2. The people.
3. The name.
A modern take on traditional Indian, what's not to love about a samosa salad, chicken chapli sliders that pack a punch, or roti wraps filled with ingredients like chicken tikka, marinated lamb with masala, or grilled ginger-chilli prawns? A powerhouse of flavours and food which leaves you feeling light rather than sluggish and in need of a 2pm powernap under your desk.
Passionate about their business, the team behind Tadka Boom! is just as inspiring as the food. Leaving the corporate world behind, Lalitha Rajan (aka Mama Rajan) founded Tadka Boom! in response to her love for cooking and sharing fresh, healthy food, based on family recipes from hometown Delhi. Son, Ashwin Rajan, joins her to make this one powerful team driven to shake up the perceptions of Indian food and deliver a new age healthy approach to the butter chicken curry - which you wont find at Tadka Boom!.
Say goodbye to the boring sanga and no to overpriced sashimi - check out the Indian-Australian fusion that is Tadka Boom! - because the food, the people and the name are all pretty awesome. Trust me - order the sliders.
Check out their healthy Indian menu and visit them in Goldsbrough Lane just off Bourke.
