It's Murphy's Law that whenever I leave Melbourne, something new and exciting happens. Although maybe that's because there is always something cool happening in Melbourne. On this occasion, it's a new addition to our rooftop collective of bars in the city - and it looks utterly sublime.
As Melbourne's third oldest pub, The Imperial Bar on the corner of Bourke Street and Spring at the Paris end of town is no stranger to the neighbourhood. Now, it's set to go UP in popularity with its new rooftop space overlooking Bourke Street, Parliament House, and in fact, all of the city with 360 views of our glorious town.
Open and ready for business, the Imperial rooftop is offering local and international drinks for summer sipping like Little Creatures IPA, James Squire Pear and Apple Cider, Stellar Artois and Hoegaarden.
Expect to find some dude food with character like the Kevin Bacon (chips with cheese and bacon) or jalapeno poppers with cream cheese and raspberry sauce.
Other good bits include free entry on New Year's Eve (hello awesome fireworks view!) and an entirely smoke free rooftop so you can really breathe in that fresh summer air.
Yes, Murphy is a cruel guy, but I'll look at getting my own back on return to Melbourne when I hit up this new CBD rooftop bar.
In the meantime, you'll just have to enjoy it for me!
Little Miss xoxo
