Melburnians are very good at embracing international cuisine while respecting and incorporating the superior quality of Victorian produce. Point in case: the Easey Street Smoke Out.
When we were invited to sample the goods of the American-style barbecue fare, a partnership between Ironbank BBQ and communal motorcycle workshop, Kustom Kommune, we got our best biker chic gear on and headed to Collingwood.
Ironbark BBQ are artisan smokers offering traditional American barbecue style dishes using produce that is sourced locally, ethically and sustainably. Enjoy the most succulent lamb ribs that melt in your mouth, mac’n’cheese that has the power to solve all of your problems, and pork sliders that would make an atheist call and thank God for this experience.
Kustom Kommune is a fully equipped DIY motorcycle workshop, where members have access to tools, knowledge and use of the workshop facilities to service their bikes - and is now also host to the Easey Street Smoke Out, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6pm.
The vibe is very rock’n’roll, with manicured beards in and around the bar holding onto a 3 Ravens beer, recently named Champion Small Australian Brewery at the Australian International Beer Awards.
For your American bbq fix using our beautiful Victorian produce, get down to Easey Street Smoke Out this weekend.
