Alpacas. They're cute. They're fuzzy. And, according to our Flinders Lane Peruvian pros at Pastuso, they're tasty too. The meat has been one of Peru's favourite proteins for centuries so Pastuso is bringing the iconic Alpaca Lunch back for another year for us to sample the goods.
In partnership with The Age Good Food Month, the grill, cevicheria and pisco bar will be showcasing the just-slightly-gamier-than-beef meat with a nose to tail menu from chef Alejandro Savaria and his talented team.
This Alpaca-inspired degustation lunch will feature dishes like short ribs, tenderloin with nori seaweed and light dashi, and shoulder with seasonal vegetables, quinoa, Madeira and roasted Andean chilli sauce. All of a sudden Alpacas sound a lot more edible.
For three and a half hours of something a little bit different, just shoot an email to info@pastuso.com.au to book. And, whatever you do, don't think about the cute.
