I have a friend who, every time we go out for dinner, flicks straight to the dessert menu and insists in all seriousness that we should order sweets for our mains. She hasn't succeeded in her sweet-toothed plight just yet but has managed to convince us to order almost every dessert on said menu when it comes to that part of the night.
Fortunately, there's a place for people like my friend. It's called Om Nom.
Positioned within the dessert-themed inner city boutique hotel, The Adelphi, Om Nom is the place to satiate that sweet tooth as you indulge in a gorgeous setting.
The high tea menu has been crafted by French-trained Christy Tania and includes bites like mango and shiso profiteroles, monsieur green tea gateaux and pineapple verinne. No boring stock standard scones here, Christy assures us.
The savoury side of things is accommodated for too with bites like foie gras macaroons, vol au vents and vegetable tempura. Fortunately for the glutards, Om Nom also does a brilliant job of dishing up amazing gluten free high tea, too.
This High Tea delight is available on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4pm for $65pp - inclusive with a glass of Louis Roederer champagne. Yum. With it being a boutique venue, bookings are recommended - essential for gluten free.
Champaign and cake? This is surely what weekends were made for.
